Was schwingt mit?

Where are we situated in the course of world events, in space and time? At an extraordinary moment? Does it always feel like this? Or are we standing at a threshold?
We are certainly living in a phase of upheaval and transition – one that raises many questions and leaves many unanswered. But which questions are these? And who gets to ask them, to carry them forward, to respond?
With a microphone in hand and our gaze fixed on the event horizon, we set out on January 16 on a walk through Leipzig: a participatory intervention in public space. Along the way, we collect and circulate voices and questions – addressed to, about, and from the future. Together, we try to set stones, thoughts, and perspectives in motion across social boundaries.
The intervention invites participants to share ideas and uncertainties, hopes and wishes about the future – and to allow themselves to be moved by unfamiliar voices and viewpoints.
We explore the wide space of the future through a simple pattern: each perspective and each question carries over into the next encounter.
In this way, we pick up and pass on threads of thought, weaving a shared mesh. Impulses, questions, and positions can shift, amplify, and reflect one another — until stimulus and response, contradiction and resonance begin to intertwine in a polylogue.
An experiment. (As everything ultimately is.)
…We move forward by asking questions. (Zapatistas)
